I shall be telling this with a sigh
Somewhere ages and ages hence:
Two roads diverged in a wood, and I—
I took the one less traveled by,
And that has made all the difference.
- Robert Frost

oh man, i can't even tell you how much that whole poem is my creed. the road less taken is the road to take however, 'yet knowing how way leads on to way...' there is something so bitter in knowing you can never go back.

this is a reflection on the first comment

"never go back:" Even if I could go back it wouldn't be the same me then -- so it wouldn't really be "back."

Just think of the difference between "dead end" and "one way!" It came to me once that what might at first appear to be a "dead end" may actually prove to be a "living endless!"

"so bitter in knowing you can never go back"
or
so better in knowing you can always go on...

Faith, Hope, Love! These three abide... That's it -- the difference between bitter and better.
