The end is in sight. It's hard to believe that my first year here in Austria is drawing to a close. I admit there were days when I didn't think it would ever end, but now that it's this close I look back and wonder where it went. It's kind of sad that it's over. Only big thing left on the horizon is a concert in the new cathedral in 2 weeks. Other than that I just have to tie up loose ends and pack and all that fun stuff. And then it's off to America for the summer.

Hello, I have an interesting story for you but first I should introduce myself. My name is Michael Bramble, I am an organist in New Brunswick, Canada and this fall I am studying organ performance at the School of Music of Memorial Univesrity in Newfoundland, Canada. I have been following your blog for the past several months and have read all your entries, and I've enjoyed them very much. Well I was voted by my grad class of 500 as the Grad Class Valedictorian and I needed to find inspiration for my speech. Well one night I came across your entry on December 18, 2005 and read the line "The friendships we create are about the most lasting thing we do on this earth" and it really struck a chord with me, say a major chord, ha ha. So I wrote my speech on the theme to value friends and family in life over other posessions in life, and to value these people for they are truely the most meaningful part of life, and it was a smashing hit. I even quoted you the "Linz Organist." Well the next day parts of my speech were in several paragraphs on the front page of the provincial newspaper and the quote from december 18th that I mentioned before was right in the middle of the front page, word for word. So I wanted to thank you for your help in inspiring me to write my valedictorian speech, and congradulate you on making breaking front page news here in New Brunswick :)

You have an awesome blog, and thanks for sharing your amazing story with all of us,
Michael Bramble
